Ahmed Rashid is a Pakistani journalist and author who is an expert on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Central Asia. He is a correspondent for the Financial Times and has written several books, including Taliban, Descent into Chaos, and Jihad: The Rise of Militant Islam in Central Asia.
