Frank Frazetta (February 9, 1928 – May 10, 2010) was an American fantasy and science fiction artist, noted for his significant contribution to the world of illustration. He is often regarded as one of the preeminent figures in the field of fantasy art. Frazetta's work is characterized by his distinctive style, with a focus on muscular figures, dramatic color palettes, and lush landscapes. He gained widespread acclaim for his book covers, comic books, and paintings, most prominently in the 1960s and 1970s. His art illustrated the covers of numerous iconic literary works, including those of Conan the Barbarian, Tarzan, and John Carter of Mars, which helped to shape the visual standards of the sword and sorcery genre.
