John Stott (1921-2011) was an Anglican clergyman and prolific Christian writer. He was a leader in the worldwide evangelical movement, and his books, including Basic Christianity, have been translated into many languages. He was known for his passionate commitment to social justice and the environment, and for his commitment to the unity of the church.
