Melita Denning was the pen name of Vivian Godfrey (1905-1997), a British occult author and practitioner. She is best known for her work in collaboration with her partner and eventual husband, Osborne Phillips (pseudonym of Leon Barcynski). Together, under the joint pen name Melita Denning and Osborne Phillips, they co-authored numerous books on esoteric subjects, including the study of the Western mystery tradition, magical practices, and the Llewellyn's "Practical Guide" series on topics such as astral projection, creative visualization, and psychic self-defense. Their collective work has been influential in the fields of ceremonial magick and the modern neo-pagan and occult movements. The couple also held leadership roles in the magical order Ordo Aurum Solis, which focuses on the practice of ceremonial magic with an emphasis on the spiritual development of its practitioners.
