Philip Athans is an American author and editor best known for his work in the fantasy genre. He is the author of the New York Times best-selling Forgotten Realms novel Annihilation, as well as several other novels and short stories in the same setting. He has also edited several anthologies, and is the author of the non-fiction book Writing Monsters.
