The Best Order to Read Abby Jimenez’s Books

Published by PangoBooks, April 3, 2024

Readers sat on the ground, chatting with friends and strangers alike. The line had snaked out of the convention center's main hall, past the double doors and spilling into the lobby. The Library of Congress' 2024 National Book Festival attendees later reported that they stood (or sat) in line for over two hours. But for these hardcore fans, the wait was worth it, because at the front of the line, with sharpies ready to sign books, were romance authors Casey McQuiston and Abby Jimenez.

2024 was Jimenez's year. Her then-new release, Just for the Summer, was a Good Morning America Book Club read and an instant bestseller. By the end of the year, her 2023 work, Yours Truly, ranked eighteenth on our bestsellers of the year list, beating out romcom queen Emily Henry's People We Meet on Vacation and Brynne Weaver's dark romance Butcher and Blackbird. Jimenez herself ranked at number ten on our list of the best-selling authors of the year, which placed her above other icons of the genre like Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, and Lucy Score.

To celebrate the recent release of Say You'll Remember Me, we've compiled a guide on how to read all of Jimenez's books in order. Also included is a ranking of her top bestsellers and other books to read if you love interconnected romance series. Read the guide below and shop Jimenez's heart-wrenching romances from individual booksellers right here on Pango!

Do you have to read Abby Jimenez's books in order?

Both of Jimenez's series, The Friend Zone and Part Of Your World, are written in a way that allows each book to be read as a standalone. For example, you can read Life's Too Short without having first finished The Happily Ever After Playlist. However, our recommendation is that you stick to the series order, if possible, to enrich your reading experience. It's highly gratifying to meet Briana Ortiz as Alexis Montgomery's ride-or-die best friend in Part of Your World and then get to dive deeper into her character in Jimenez's most popular work, Yours Truly. Plus, readers also get an update on Alexis's life in the sequel, which wouldn't be appreciated if the books were read out of order.

Are Abby Jimenez's books spicy?

Spice is a term readers online have coined to describe the amount of adult romantic content in a book. A very spicy book will have many scenes that are described in detail, while a very "mild" book, also described as "closed-door," will leave certain scenes up to the reader's imagination.

Many describes Abby Jimenez's works as mild to medium. One Redditor shares that her books are "Not very spicy, but each book has at least one open door scene."
