It’s 1960s Chicago, and 47th Street is the epicenter of a booming black community that’s become the promised land for black southerners in search of the American Dream. For high school dropouts JC and Mookie, it’s become a field of dreams. When they stumble across the dead body of the local black link to the mafia, Mookie sees it as an opportunity. Soon, he and JC have taken over as gangsta reps for the local boss, and within a year, they’re swimming in money, cars, and women—until trouble hits. When JC gets a 15-year sentence for a murder the both committed, he’s bent on revenge. Now he’s out and ready for a showdown that will end much more than their friendship….
