Tolkien's The Hobbit, illustrated by Alan Lee, and printed by Houghton Mifflin in 1997, This handsome edition features abundant full-plate color illustrations, and smaller black and white line drawn illustrations, providing visuals for one of the greatest adventure stories ever written. It is bound in green book cloth, with gold titling and decorations. There is fading along the edges of the hardcover boards, and some spotting and staining on the cloth. The spine is a bit cocked, but is still strong, and the book reads confidently. There is no dust jacket included.
