Faced with the popular belief that they were incapable of mastering the intricacies of flight, the participants in the Tuskegee Experience proved their detractors wrong. Their story includes accounts of sadness, death, and success, but most importantly, it shares the efforts of African-Americans to serve their country as members of the Armed Forces during the war, despite the attempts of the War Department and Air Corps to exclude them.
